I wrote a book of essays about New York called ‘The Colossus of New York,’ but it’s not about – you know, when I’m writing about rush hour or Central Park, it’s not a black Central Park, it’s just Central Park, and it’s not a black rush hour, it’s just rush hour.
Brewer Street Car Park as the host venue is a brilliant development for London Fashion Week. With its position in Soho, it is at the heart of an area that has long been associated with fashion and creativity in general.

I go running three times a week – outside in the park, come rain or shine, and I hate every moment of it. I hate everything about it. Saving the world via medical research or going off to Gobi Desert to dust off dinosaur eggs is what I thought I might be doing when I was a kid, and I’d love to bring those interests to a show like ‘E.R.’ or ‘The West Wing,’ or a movie like ‘Jurassic Park.’

I think comparisons are very on the surface. If I sing, like, ‘Park Bench People,’ and there’s kind of a social undertone, people will say I sound like Gil Scott-Heron. But for me, the more insightful comparison would be a Roberta Flack or Nina Simone – people who really mix different genres of music.

There’s always been some concern that adult subject matter should be quarantined from a page that attracts children. Unlike late at night, when ‘South Park’ and ‘Colbert’ are on, impressionable minds are wide awake when the newspaper arrives.

Under the snowcapped mountains of Fiordland National Park, freshwater streams empty into the saltwater fiords, creating a unique ecosystem. This is a heavily wooded park, so the water in the streams is stained with tannin, a substance found in plants that makes clean water seem dirty, though it isn’t.
My mom used to take me down to the Jersey Shore when I was 7, 8, 9 years old. I can remember being down in that area – Belmar, Seaside Heights, Asbury Park and all those places that I went back and revisited.
I studied in Britain and spent great moments of my life there as a student living in Belsize Park. I admire the British trait of the stiff upper lip in the face of adversity. My wife studied in Britain, too, and both of us have many friends there.
I’m from New Jersey, the Shore, and Asbury Park and all that goes with that. I wouldn’t want to mess around with that. I like New Jersey. There are nice people here.
They are the three venues I wanted to box in – I wasn’t really interested in Las Vegas and all of them places. The three I always said was Croke Park, United, and Madison Square Garden.
Conservation is for guilty people on Park Avenue with poodles and Pekingeses.

I wanted to do a wildlife series. I kept remembering those days in Algonquin Park, drifting along in the bottom of a canoe, and I wanted to transfer that feeling to the viewers.
I run from Horatio Street down just past Battery Park City and back. It’s amazing to run and see the Statue of Liberty and the ferries coming in. People think if you’re not near Central Park, there’s nowhere to go, but there’s a whole ecosystem happening down here.
If you had to point to one thing that made it less likely that the Red Sox would win the World Series, I would say it was those people that go to Fenway Park to watch the games. And then the media around it.
Michael Lewis
And I remember going to the record studio and there was a park across the street and I’d see all the children playing and I would cry because it would make me sad that I would have to work instead.
I read the original webtoon ‘Itaewon Class’ before seeing the drama. The character of Park Sae Roy left a particularly deep impression on me, and I really liked him.
My sister and I were very adventurous. We’d play in the park across the road in our imaginary tree house for hours on end and come home on our bikes when it was dark.

We choose the national park idea because it’s really the highest form of protection for landscapes that exists under current law, especially in Chile and Argentina.
I live near Thompson Square Park, and there are a lot of colorful people I see in the park – a lot of different personalities and homeless people – you get to know them. And every now and then, there is suddenly someone who is no longer around, and you’re just like, ‘Wow,’ but you never really know what happened to them.
When I thought about Detroit, I would think big city, very urban – not a lot of places to walk around, not a lot of parks. I sort of pictured Manhattan almost, where, besides Central Park, it’s all city and big buildings. But now that I’m here, you see people pushing strollers, people hanging out in the park.
Erin Cummings
I don’t think the government should be in the trailer-park business. I don’t think they know how to run a trailer park.
I run in a local park two or three times a week. I probably should do more than I do, but I also do weight-lifting along with that cardio.
ICOs cannot escape startup evolution characteristics. This means that their growth will be hard fought, hard earned, and hardly a walk in the park.
I started out doing theater in New York. I used to go to Shakespeare in the Park a lot.
Spring and fall in New York are the best seasons here to get out and about. I like the little park in Dumbo between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridge. I like Prospect Park.
My parents were laborers so we lived on South Park, which was a low-income region of Seattle. You had a choice – you either joined or formed a gang or you let others bully you.
I did ‘Slither,’ so I’ve done seven hours in the makeup chair. So two hours for zombie makeup is like nothing. That’s a walk in the park for me. When you do seven-hour makeup and then eight hours of work, you’re thinking, ‘Oh God, what did this do to me?’ You’re under that rubber forever. It’s crazy.
I don’t smack him around. I don’t yell at him. And if he wants to go to the park in his pajamas, I don’t care.
New York is still the most glamorous city I’ve ever been to, but it’s starting to feel older. The sirens still wail; the paths in Central Park still pulsate with joggers. The Manhattan schist still trembles beneath your feet. But weirdly, it’s starting to feel, dare I say it, a bit quaint.
I have been given permission to announce that I and others from ‘All My Children’ have been approached by the company Prospect Park, who bought ‘AMC,’ with the intention to move it online.

I can parallel park pretty well – I’m a great driver.
I watched Westerns from the time I was a girl. My dad was a big Western fan. I always loved Clint Eastwood movies and ‘Westworld’, where the guy gets trapped in a western-themed amusement park. The western motif was fascinating to me.
From the start, I used a different kind of girl in Nars campaign images. My choice to use models of colour such as Alek Wek, Naomi Campbell and Karen Park Goude was absolutely a deliberate one. I felt that makeup was universal and should apply to everybody.
Back in the mid ’90s, I went to a film festival, and they were airing ‘Central Park West’ at the same time as this cute little romantic comedy movie called ‘French Exit,’ and I got to go from one theater where I was goofy, falling over myself, to this kind of evil vixen kind of character.
And what could be a hotter ticket than the improbable triumph of ‘The Book of Mormon,’ the musical-comedy moon shot of the season? Its creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, of Comedy Central’s ‘South Park,’ are the most unlikely Rodgers and Hammerstein team ever to bowl a thundering strike.
When you are interviewing refugees, each person you talk to has a different story that could come from a horror movie. So many people talk about seeing their families get murdered before their eyes. Then I go to Central Park, and people are talking about their third divorce and paying tuition.
I love Central Park. I spend a lot of time in there. I try and get in there whenever I can.
Lili Taylor
I really love the internet. They say chat-rooms are the trailer park of the internet but I find it amazing.
I much prefer playing in the centre of the park; that’s where I feel comfortable.
I still love going back to Celtic Park now, whether it’s for Celtic or Scotland games, and seeing the atmosphere.
Television was supposed to be a national park. Instead it has become a money machine. It’s a commodity now, just like pork bellies.
Fred W. Friendly
I love to walk around New York. Honestly, that’s like the best thing, to walk over to Park Slope and go visit my friend Betty and take her dog out in the park or go walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. I really dig being outside and getting to see everybody in the street.
Whether you are a low-income elderly woman living at the end of a dirt road in Vermont or a wealthy CEO living on Park Avenue, you get your mail six days a week. And you pay for this service at a cost far less than anywhere else in the industrialized world.
The Small Faces are thought to be a one-hit wonder in America because we only had ‘Itchycoo Park.’ Then the Faces just had ‘Stay with Me.’ So both bands could be considered one-hit wonders in America, even though we had several huge hits in England.
Ian McLagan
‘Jurassic Park’ is like ‘Star Wars.’ Different directors can give a different taste to each movie.
You have to step up to the plate, and then hit one out of the park.
Shawn Wayans
When I was in high school, the energy in hip-hop at that point was the park energy… I was just trying to develop my style at that point, and I think, when you’re trying to find your style, you find yourself.

Obviously when I was younger, when I was three years old, I used to kick a football around in the park or in the garden. I’ve got loads of videos, pictures of me doing it.
When I was 16, I spent a year pushing trollies around a car park, and that wasn’t fun. I didn’t love working in a supermarket; it wasn’t for me. It is for some people, and that’s totally cool.
Obviously I’m a big fan of ‘South Park’, but it gets tiring at times when there’s so much of it.
In a park, you are not working with studio materials or a flat piece of paper. You have grass and the people and the city and the daylight.
Jessica Stockholder
There are no black film composers doing the likes of Star Wars, doing the likes of E.T., doing the likes of Jurassic Park. There are none, nor will there ever be one. That ain’t about to happen!
J. J. Johnson
Every year I go to Denver, usually between June and August. I hire a car and head up to the Rocky Mountain National Park, about a three-hour drive. It’s my idea of heaven on earth and just talking about it puts me in a good mood.
I went into this little reptile park, and Steve was doing the crocodile show, coincidentally… I was absolutely floored. That was it. This man was a real-life hero. I fell then and there, love at first sight.
My brothers and I would sit out on the park bench and harmonize.
I grew up on Avenue C, and Tompkins Square Park was my park. That was where I played ball every day. I lived in that park.
Ramon Rodriguez
Kitchen Wars’ makes ‘MasterChef‘ look like a walk in the park!
That Evan Dunham fight, I went back to not being serious. I was going to the lake and literally brought some wrestling mats down with me. We have a shop at the lake where we park the boat. I’d throw the mats in there, wakeboard all day, and train all night. I was having a good time, getting back to work.
I grew up in the next town over from Asbury Park and five streets from E Street. My mother fed me ‘Born To Run’ with my Cheerios.
We were in this park in Canada throwing a frisbee around, and there was a homeless guy there who swore to God I was Mick Jagger. I kept telling him I wasn’t, and he kept thinking I was Jagger and wanted to play frisbee with us. Then he heard a siren coming and thought I called the cops – and he ran away!
I love going to football matches, the skate park, and music festivals.
‘Clybourne Park’ was my first job after the birth of my son, who was 11 weeks old when we started rehearsals. And while that was truly harder than anything I’ve ever done, I was grateful every day to be going to work on such an incredible play, with such a generous, intelligent, supportive group of people.
Annie Parisse
Go outside! I mean, even leaves from a park are beautiful in a clear glass vase. I’d rather see that than fake anything any day.
I feel that people think it’s a really easy walk in the park – I just turn up and I’m always on top form. But the journey to that point is always a struggle.
There is no good scientific reason to bring back an extinct species. Why would one bring them back? To put them in a theme park?
Hendrik Poinar
I remember going to the East Village for the first time as a fifteen-year-old and going to Tompkins Square Park. That really seemed like a pretty edgy thing to do.
Shakespeare in the Park is one of the greatest gifts in New York City. You just have to wait for the tickets – and it’s worth the wait.
If you can imagine the delight of visiting a theme park where lasting memories are made, we envision ‘Sky’ will sometimes feel like that.
If your child seems to click with another kid in the class, try to set up a time for you to meet at a park after school and get to know their parent. Seeing you be outgoing with the parents of other children will encourage your child to be open and active in their friendships, too!
Seven-11 is the pulse-beat of America. I think that Bruce Springsteen should do a song about a 7-11 in Asbury Park, New Jersey, but write it in such a way that American’s youth can identify and slurp along with the Boss. Hail the Boss! Hail 7-11!
I’ve had a bond with West Ham since growing up as a kid, going to Upton Park, looking up to the players.
I met Paul Kossoff for the first time when I was playing in the back of a pub room in Finsbury Park in London in 1967. It was kind of a blues thing going on, and he came up and said, ‘I’d like to have a jam.’ So he came up and jammed with me, and I just loved his playing right from the start.
Death is the king of this world: ‘Tis his park where he breeds life to feed him. Cries of pain are music for his banquet.
I have this dream where I get chased through a park by Nazis in the Second World War. They finally catch up to me in an apartment somewhere, but I don’t know what happens next.
Jersey is always with me. I was one of the lucky ones. Asbury Park is just the greatest place in the world to spend your childhood.
One of the reasons I started working at ‘South Park,’ actually, was that I wanted to learn how to structure things and how to tell a story.
I’d gone very quickly from playing in a park with my mates to sitting next to Wayne Rooney at dinner. It was a bit weird.
My favourite pastime used to be sitting on a park bench watching people. But after ‘Jagged Little Pill,’ the eyeballs turned, and I was the watched one.
No, I wouldn't let Trump on my stage... I'd just rather

No, I wouldn’t let Trump on my stage… I’d just rather fight him in the car park.
Grandeur and sublimity, not softness, are the features of Estes Park. The glades which begin so softly are soon lost in the dark primaeval forests, with their peaks of rosy granite and their stretches of granite blocks piled and poised by nature in some mood of fury.
If you go to a theme park, there will be so many rides. You will get an exciting experience in each of them. Like that, every film is an experience that entertains you. Some films will touch your heart. Some will touch you emotionally. There is nothing more than that.
One thing I learned is that the park by the river in a recent story, ‘Getting Closer,’ is the same park by the river that appears for a moment near the end of ‘The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad,’ a story first published 23 years earlier. This echo at first irritated me, then pleased me deeply.
Steven Millhauser
When I saw ‘Jurassic Park’ as a kid, that was the first time I thought about making movies for a living.
I would probably say Breckenridge has the best park out of any resort. They build the best jumps, they have fun rails, and the pipe is well kept, too.
It isn’t safe to go to the parks. Toxic chemicals ruin the air and water. There is vandalism, even crime, and conscientious park personnel are demoralized.
I am a musician by rights, and I played in Asbury Park in the old African Room in the Robert Trent Hotel next to the Albion. That was in the early ’60s.
On May 29 2016, my wildest dreams came true. I became the WBC cruiserweight champion of the world at Goodison Park. The dream location, the dream title, the dream ending, a third-round knockout of Iunga Makabu.
On Sunday morning, I like to go for a walk around London. If the weather is nice, I’ll go to a park or on a lovely bike ride around the city.
In many aspects of government, as in the tech world and investing, brains and temperament smash experience and seniority out of the park.
I know comedians who go on weird day trips in order to have random experiences they can talk about. They’ll go on their own to Thorpe Park waiting for something hilarious to happen. That’s really sad.
I’m not a singer. In ‘Bye Bye Birdie,’ I think I was the sad girl who sits on the park bench during ‘Put on a Happy Face.’
I worked with a skateboarding instructor for three hours every day. We would go to the park and do ramps. I had to wear a ridiculous amount of gearelbow pads, knee pads, every kind of pad, plus a helmet – to stop myself from getting hurt.
One day, right after my mastectomy, I went for a walk in Central Park, and there was this mob of people blocking the road. I thought, ‘Oh, great, now I’m stuck!’ but then I suddenly realized that it was a breast cancer walk.
I realized why I can cook for different environments. Because of everything I’ve gone through growing up. Why can I cook for a Hollywood event without blinking an eye? Because I cooked at the Beverly Hilton and because I moved to Villa Park. Why can I cook for kids on Hollywood Boulevard at night? Because I went through it.
I started out playing football in the park with my dad. My dad was a bit of a ball player, but he couldn’t really be bothered playing.
Marlins Park is what I call my office in Miami, because I work for the Venezuelan Museum of Baseball and Hall of Fame. My job is to go to all the MLB stadiums and to talk to and collect articles from all the Venezuelan players in the big leagues and those Americans that played in Venezuela.
In some ways, ‘Mansfield Park’ is ‘Pride and Prejudice‘ turned inside out.
I’ve started confiding in people, other artists mostly, that I hate making ‘South Park,’ and I always have. It’s super stressful. I’m always miserable.
If you have too many quotes from other people in your head, you can’t create. You have to keep your head empty. That’s why I am constantly enjoying the sky, the park, the walk.
Students raised on Park Avenue are born into family situations in which overachieving merely maintains the status quo, and therefore the market is primed for anyone offering services that provide an edge on local peers.
I wanted to finish my career with one team, in one city, one mayor, one park, one owner. I did that. The Wrigleys owned the team. We played all of our home games at Wrigley Field during the daytime. So my career was very unique, and I am proud of it.
Three ‘Jurassic Park’ movies isn’t enough! You want more!

I like playing basketball and going to the gym. I don’t box, but I’ll ride my bike and go jogging or running in the park. Sometimes my lady and I go hiking.
I’ve always had that mindset of, ‘OK, I may be hot this month or doing really well this month, but don’t get too high, don’t get too low – just enjoy it.’ Don’t ride the rollercoaster, basically. I always thought about it like, I’m not going to an amusement park, I’m going to a baseball field.
We believed in our idea – a family park where parents and children could have fun- together.

I can’t wait for summer in the city! I love all the free activities in the parks that become available to us New Yorkers. Yoga and movie screenings in Bryant Park, concerts in Central Park – there’s so much more available to the New York community in the summer! And everyone just seems to smile more.
Kara Lindsay
It means a lot to be back in New York. Particularly since one of the last senior event scheduled in the States was supposed to be here in New York. We were supposed to play in Central Park right after 9-11 and when 9-11 happened obviously things changed.
It was an amazing experience for me to play at Celtic Park in a big European game. It’s a privilege to be a Celtic player, with massive crowds and great fans.
The perfect date is real simple. I wanna just spend a nice casual day walking in the park, playing on the swings… throwing bread crumbs to the ducks, really just chilling and getting to know each other and connecting with the real woman.
My boyfriend keeps telling me I’ve got to own things. So, first I bought this car. And then he told me I oughta get a house. ‘Why a house?’ ‘Well, you gotta have a place to park the car.’
There’s this book that I love called ‘Eleanor & Park.’ It’s an incredible story about these two misfit kids who fall in love. I’ve loved that book for years and I’d be so thrilled if I got to be in an adaptation of that.
I never had a walk in the park in my career.
I actually walk through Washington Square Park a lot.
In New York, everybody looks great and is well dressed, but seeing someone in Ohio wearing Marc Jacobs is like spotting an owl in Central Park. Rare.
He lives out in Orchard Park. I mean, to be able to sit on the bench so patiently, for whatever part, and to be able to get up and do something, with such heroic competencies would be great.
Robert Creeley
I didn’t necessarily grow up in a trailer park, but there is a brief part of that in my life. So I can make fun of it a little bit. I’m not too much of an outsider, where I’m just making fun of someone.
Looking at yourself through the media is like looking at one of those rippled mirrors in an amusement park.
Edmund S. Muskie
I like to take walks in the park by myself, where no one can bother me and I can think.

Glaciers are almost gone from Glacier National Park.
I think every New York actor’s dream is to do Shakespeare in the Park. Each show is so special and unique and diverse because of the elements that we’re performing in. Every live show is truly a one-of-a-kind.
What I see as the particularly exciting prospect for writing horror fiction as we go forward is setting stories in more internal landscapes than external ones, mapping out the mind as the home for scary things instead of the house at the end of the lane or lakeside campground or abandoned amusement park.
Andrew Pyper
Park Bo Gum has a very reserved personality. Becoming close with him was a struggle. Just trying to talk in informal speech took two hours.
Kwak Dong-yeon
Dublin dwindles so beautifully; there is no harsh separation between it and the country. It fades away, whereas London seems to devour the country; an army of buildings come and take away a beautiful park, and you never seem to get quite out of sight of a row of houses.
Engel & Volkers is international, high end and associated with the very best in real estate which is well represented by our new Park Avenue address.
Anthony Hitt
I was born in Coney Island. I like to think I fell out of the womb onto the fun park’s giant Parachute Jump while eating a Nathan’s hot dog.
Harold Feinstein
My films usually start with an idea that I get while walking the streets. For example, I got the idea for ‘Guard Dog’ when I was walking in the park and I saw a dog barking at a bird.
There’s no such thing as good or bad dinosaurs. There are predators and prey. The T-Rex in ‘Jurassic Park’ took human lives and saved them. No one interpreted her as good or bad.
Trey Parker did ‘Book of Mormon.’ It’s the best Broadway show I’ve ever seen. He does ‘South Park.’ It’s wonderful.
When you’re really young, dating girls, and trying to explain Kiss, they just look at you like you’re kind of crazy. I think they got so big in the Seventies and were such a phenomenon – they did the ‘Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park’ movie, the solo records – some people only know the merchandising stuff.
Park Bo Young was like a teacher to me. Personally, we were good friends, but at the same time, I admired her acting and learned a lot from her.
Park Hyung-sik

I’ve always been very passionate about issues. Being speaker, you kind of have to park the positions on issues and focus more on the rules.
The main thing for me is that anything I design, I try to design it with just a little bit of pizzazz, something that’s going to allow the family to stay home and enjoy the space as opposed to necessarily having to always go to a park or something.
What actually happened with ‘Miracle‘ was that someone saw me in ‘Jurassic Park’ and said, ‘We want someone with a white beard – how about him?’ I’ve got a round face, white hair, a white beard. I can wear half-moon glasses and waddle a little, cope with a cane, raise my hat.
The park achieved a kind of reality. Like these virtual reality games the children are playing with. I told them we were doing this 40 years ago! Disneyland is virtual reality.
I knew when I got on tour that if I had the opportunity to give back to my community, which is Rose Park, I would.
I don’t really go to fancy parties, so I’m not really familiar with that kind of celebrity lifestyle. I don’t dress up a lot. My girlfriend and I walk a lot and watch a lot of movies, and my friends and I go to the park or each others’ houses.
A factory that can turn carbon nanotubes into a sheet a yard wide and long enough to stretch one-fourth of the way to the moon is not something you’ll find at your local industrial park. That’s the show-stopper for the space elevator. The ribbon.
I’m always the kid who is going to be finding out if there is a cemetery or an abandoned amusement park that I can go visit as opposed to the beach, so it wasn’t too much of a stretch to get me to the world of Ninth House.’
I’ve gone down to the Jersey Shore every summer since I was born. It’s like a second home, and Asbury Park is like the capital – it’s the center of all of it. Musically, it’s incredible.

I love running in Central Park.
I have always known mosquitoes love me, but they really love me in Central Park.

Obviously when you grow up in the area you love playing on the street, and to go from playing on the street with my mates to playing at Upton Park is a bit surreal, and 15 years on to still be in the heart of the West Ham midfield is quite good going!
Your core holds you upright; it helps you bend and twist and jump; it helps you transfer power through your body; and it strengthens your posture, whether you are batting, sitting at a desk or running around a park.
My first job was at an amusement park in Virginia. It was the worst. I loved the park but once I’d worked there all the magic was gone from it. It just turned into a place I hated and I’ve never been there since.
I have known Aparna Sen for many years. We worked together in her film ’15 Park Avenue’ which was in English.
My youngest brother and I went on a ten-day canoe trip in Bowron Provincial Park in British Columbia years ago. Believe it or not, we took only granola, thinking we’d be eating a lot of lake trout. Well, we neglected to bring along a net, and our fishing line was only 8-lb. test.
Will Hobbs
As a kid, I was pretty obsessed with dinosaurs and the day that my parents took me to Dinosaur National Park, I didn’t think life could get any better.
If Luna Marie is at the park, my child is not happy unless she’s on the highest bar of the jungle gym or the tallest branch of a tree or jumping over the biggest, deepest hole.
My parents lived by Rancho Park. And my mom, later in life, got into playing golf. She and her male cronies would get up at five in the morning and sneak onto the back nine. I kind of just started getting into it. For a long time, I was really puzzled by why people liked it.
Almost all of my graduate students say that they got interested in dinosaurs because of ‘Jurassic Park.’

I had a stroll like this in the park with somebody, and I saw the ice and I thought, ‘what would happen if I go in there?’ I was really attracted to it. I went in, got rid of my clothes. Thirty seconds I was in. Tremendous good feeling when I came out, and since then, I repeated it every day.
I graduated on a Friday. By Monday, I was doing Shakespeare in the Park.

Last week I was in London at an awards show, then I flew home and was in an RV park with my wife and kids in our motorhome, this week I’m in NY doing a charity event, and tomorrow I’ll be coaching my daughters soccer practice. I guess the range of roles I play on film stem from the range of roles I play in real life.
Peter Facinelli
I always loved the way music made me feel. I did sports at school and all, but when I got home, it was just music. Everybody in my neighborhood loved music. I could jump the back fence and be in the park where there were ghetto blasters everywhere.
At its heart, ‘South Park’ has a touching faith in human beings: that despite their absurdities and flaws, people have the capacity to create a better world.
When there were no kids to play football with in my local park, I would go to my grandma‘s factory. She used to give me £2 if I cleaned all the threads and scraps off the floor. I even learned how to sew.

Planning a garden, park, building, or city shouldn’t be done in an office.
If you’re let go from Celtic, the club you support, and go to Queen’s Park, people think it’s a disaster. I don’t think I cried, but I was very upset. As a young boy, your dream has been taken away. But I had good people around me, and it was probably the best thing that happened.
Very normal trajectory of a fighter‘s career – you start out fighting at the YMCA. You move on to the dog park. You get into a coliseum. On your way out, you go back to the YMCA, and then you finish up at the dog park.
When you go to the park, there is no horizon – just Disneyland.
I sold door to door for a couple years. As the years recede from the event, I remember less about it, which is probably good for my mind. It was home improvement in Cerritos California, Buena Park, that area.

God knocks the ball out of the park and I get to run the bases.
I tried to do a puppet show on the streets, and I wasn’t a very good street performer. But I found that I could stand in one place in Central Park and bounce a soap bubble on my arm, and I didn’t have to gather a crowd for the puppet show. I had a crowd.

Linkin Park has been a band for such a long time, for me, in my eyes. I was 16 years old when I first heard them. I heard ‘Hybrid Theory,’ and I was floored at what I was listening to. It was angry yet melodic, it had hip-hop and it had – it was just different, good. Good songwriting.
Austin Carlile
I grew up with park jams. That’s how I knew about rap… The local MCs would grab the mic and start rapping. I just used to be so in awe and fascinated and like, ‘Wow, this is amazing!’ But I would never, ever touch the mic. Heck no.
Always at Goodison Park, Everton is a very good team.
Queens Park was amateur, so you do not get paid. You need to make a living, and for the first few years, when I was in the youth side, it was fine because I was still at school.
My favourite example of good technology is the automobile. I travel all over the world and if I want to drive a car anywhere, I get in and put the key in the ignition, shift out of park and drive. I don’t need an instruction manual.
Nature. That’s the one thing that tips the balance in terms of living here in California. Within minutes, I can be in a desert, at the ocean, in a park, and that’s the most nourishing food for my soul.
I love Central Park. I feel like I am somewhere else.
I like upbeat songs, and I listen to a lot of Linkin Park and Green Day. I also like hip hop and R&B artists such as Drake and Rihanna.
Lexi Thompson
I don’t seem to take vacations, but I must say, a jaunt into Central Park can be mighty transporting. My boy and I can spend hours in the Ramble scaling rocks and sword fighting with sticks. I often forget I’m in Manhattan when I’m in there.
Spencer Kayden
Even when I was down in the fourth division with Bury at 19, fighting off relegation, training in a local park with dogs running around everywhere, literally stepping over broken bottles to take a goal kick – I was learning.
I have two Jack Russell terriers, Harley and Gracie, who I like to go running with in the park.
When I know I’m not doing any auditions, I go to the skate park on my scooter or my bike.
I’m perfectly happy doing nothing. I’ll hang around the house and take the dog to the park.
Jorge Garcia
I do a medley of hymns in all of my sets, whether I’m in an arena, in a theater, in an amusement park.
This is real human drama, we’re not creating some amusement park ride for the summer. Even though the movie is really exciting to watch, it’s got a real pathos behind it.
I love New York; I love the city. It’s impossible. It’s a theme park of a city, isn’t it.
My favourite place in the world to run is Stanley Park in Vancouver. One loop around there is perfect.
When I had my dogs, I used to spend a lot of time in Central Park, which is a great place to be alone among a lot of people.
Another solid run through Central Park. Admittedly, six miles turns out to be a bad idea after a full day in heels!
Baseball is a movable conversation across nine innings. It is eye contact with the person seated next to you in a park where the pitcher is separated from the batter by 60 feet, six inches or in a family room where a 60-inch TV screen hangs on the wall.
I, at times, was disappointed when my songs were neglected by executive producer Park Jin-young, but learned a lot in the journey finding out what would appeal to a wider audience.
Jamie Park

I had sat in one day in Central Park with Bonnie and Delaney, and Duane was playing with them, so I asked if he wanted to work on an album. You never had to say to him how to play the guitar.
Herbie Mann
The 1980s will seem like a walk in the park when compared to new global challenges, where annual productivity increases of 6% may not be enough. A combination of software, brains, and running harder will be needed to bring that percentage up to 8% or 9%.
I’m doing things in Manchester with the Trafford Sports Park in partnership with the Manchester United foundation and I’m also doing things in Newcastle as well. It’s something I’m passionate about.
Not using fly ash in our highways would just be a plain waste of taxpayers‘ money, which I find unacceptable. Most people don’t realize that without fly ash, many of Montana‘s infrastructure projects simply would not have been possible – like the Hungry Horse Dam near Glacier National Park.
I was 17, and it was my first summer in London as a professional singer. One hot, humid evening, I heard that the Jimi Hendrix Experience was playing in a blues club above a pub in Finsbury Park. I was flat broke and couldn’t afford a ticket, so I went along just to stand outside and listen.
If you think I’m a walk in the park, come walk in this park and see how easy it is.
I write every day. Most weekdays, I write about ten hours a day. That doesn’t mean eight hours of surfing the Net or watching videos on YouTube. I park my butt in a chair and write… I learned that writer‘s block is a myth created by people who don’t have, or understand, a writing process.
Surprisingly, it was not an American but a British company that opened an amusement park in 2007 called Dickens World, located in the English county of Kent, complete with an Ebenezer Scrooge Haunted House, a Great Expectations Boat Ride and the as-advertised ‘costumed Dickensian characters.’
I remember me and my brother would watch ‘Beavis and Butthead’ or ‘South Park,’ but we’d be all secret about it because we didn’t want our dad to know. And then before I know it, I’m in fourth grade and me, my brother, and my dad are watching ‘South Park’ together.
Now I’m the father of three young boys, I find myself using GoPro to film them more than anything – trips to the amusement park, the beach, the pool – just chasing them around as they grow.
The movie ‘Vacation’ had a whole different ending. They never even got to the amusement park, Wallyworld, at the end of ‘Vacation.’ The last 20 minutes of the film was entirely different – and bombed so badly that the audience just stopped cold.
I did ballet at the Menlo Park Academy of Dance from age 4 to 11, but then I switched to ballroom, and I’ve been doing that ever since.
It’s very likely that graduates, current employees and retirees have some wonderful pieces of Deer Park history in their closets or garages.
Matt Lucas
Typically, an historic site is considered by the National Park Service to contain a single historical feature, while generally a National Historic Park extends beyond single properties or buildings.
Rick Renzi
My dad used to take me and my brothers to the park to play football all the time. I remember every moment.
I come from West London. I support a football team there called Queens Park Rangers, whom I’d like to give a shout-out to. I’m a die-hard Rangers fan. I think that I would always hopefully have a strong connection to and live in London, because it’s a brilliant city.
Ben Lloyd-Hughes
I make appearance at local park and recreation agencies when the program starts, when they have the qualifying meets at the local levels. Then I try to go to the regional competitions, and of course I’m there in Hershey, Pa., in August for the North American final.
Rafer Johnson
Even if you can’t afford to travel the world, you can take your children to the museum, zoo or local park. And don’t be afraid to take them to grown-up spots. Eating out in a restaurant teaches children how to be quiet and polite and gives them the pleasure of knowing you trust them to behave.
Probably my favorite piece of music, as an album taken as a whole, is Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Greetings from Asbury Park.’ I just think it’s incredibly pure. It’s a sound that sort of broke new ground, and I think it paved the way for a hundred people that sound very similar.
I still play hockey every now and then, and I still golf. But my biggest exercise is walking my big dog in the park every day.
People think we don’t give a toss about the game, but when I walked out of Windsor Park that night I felt lower than a snake‘s belly. The reality is still there.
Rio Ferdinand
Like nightclubs and sporting events, entry into an amusement park is a permission to become someone else. We come for the experience and to relish it.
I’d quite like to film in Central Park. I think we have asked, but we’re not allowed to.
I miss driving to Goodison Park. I miss just the positive energy of the fans walking into the stadium and how much they care about that club and the team. And I miss the players a lot.
I grew up on the Beatles; I love Linkin Park and Green Day. I heard hip-hop for the first time at 11 and realized what I was missing.
I would probably build somewhere between a half-mile and three-quarter-mile track. It would be sort of like Indianapolis Raceway Park. When I was a kid, that was my favorite track.
In Hanover Park they highlighted the terrible plight of backyard dwellers and the fact that year after year nothing has been done to help you: the hope and despair you all live with every day.
I was skating with friends in my neighborhood, and then eventually I was invited to go to the skate park with one of them. When I saw people flying all around – literally flying in and out of bowls – that is when I knew I wanted to do it. I wanted to figure out how I could get there and how I could fly.
My relationship with the mountains actually started when I was 16. Every year, a group used to be taken from Auckland Grammar down to the Tangariro National Park for a skiing holiday.
Acadia was founded in 1916 by Woodrow Wilson as the first Eastern national park, aided by rich men, often with middle initials, the ‘rusticators,’ as they were known then, the first of our wealthy out-of-state visitors.

Michael Giacchino is a fiercely creative musical mind and a true ‘Jurassic Park’ fan.
Although I’ve made notes for things and even written synopses sitting in trains or on park benches, for the complete composition of things I need absolute solitude, preferably an empty house.
I take a lot of pride in the work I do, because people pay to see me. They’ve got to get babysitters, park their car, get popcorn and candy. I’ve got to be conscious of that.
One day I was at the park with my family, all my cousins and stuff, in Frankston… We were all just singing a song and my aunty was like ‘oh guys, she can actually hold a note.’ I think that’s the earliest memory of someone actually pointing me out as someone that has an ability to sing. I was probably like 7 years old.
I think that by playing centre midfield in the middle of the park, I’m doing something which comes naturally to me.
To combat jet lag, when you get to your destination go straight to a park, take your shoes off and walk barefoot. It’s something to do with having your feet in contact with the earth – it’s supposed to be grounding.
I use New York to talk about home, but the ideas in ‘Colossus’ could be transferred to other cities. The story about Central Park is really about the first day of spring in any park. The Coney Island chapter is really about beaches and summer and heat waves.
You know you are grown sentimental when you start counting the cygnets on the duck pond in the park to be sure none has perished since you counted last.
Nothing’s really been handed to me, and I’ve stayed in the game long enough to get an opportunity that I’ve been hopefully knocking it out of the park every chance I get.
Ethan Carter III
We don’t have a full black community in Boston. Our people are scattered. There’s a middle class where I live in Highland Park but it’s not like a piece of Washington or Chicago.
Henry Hampton
St James’ Park was always, in the course of my career, a great place to play football, for the wildness of the crowd and the no-holds-barred football that both my team, Manchester United, and Newcastle would play.
I think I’ve only done one horror movie, Psycho III. That was a walk in the park compared to a romantic comedy.
We’re in ‘Jurassic Park’ territory. If we go to the zoo in the future, we’ll have zoos for extinct animals.
My day typically starts with an early-morning walk through Central Park. It’s a nice moment of calm before my routine starts.
If you’re willing to take risks, Twitter is a vast amusement park of interesting life possibilities.
Relaxing at home in his 55th-floor condominium before a game, Sammy Sosa is the same as at the ball park: focused but funny, exuberant but reserved. He is in a strange country, conversing in two languages, but his every movement displays a combination of confidence and humility.
I call myself the Amusement Park. That’s because I’m funny and scary at the same time.
When I think about Edmonton, Silver Street and Pymmes Park, the old people whose faces are so unhappy, it pushes me to be better. I want to be better to help places like this.
Apple Music is trying to create an entire pop culture experience that includes audio and video. If South Park walks into my office, I’m not going to say, ‘You’re not musicians.’ We’re going to do whatever hits pop culture smack on the nose.
I was haunted by a bear attack that happened in Algonquin Park in 1991. The problem was that I don’t believe in ghosts, so that ruled out an exorcism. My other choice was to start writing.
I was actually the manager of the games department of an amusement park when I was at college, so I understood the coin-op side of the games business very well.
Sometimes I Rollerblade to work, but it’s most lovely in the park, and it’s really quite safe there. I do it quite carefully, and I wear all the gear.
My earliest memory is a picnic in the park near our house, which was next to Wimbledon Common. Why on earth we went to a park when we lived so near the common is a mystery, but it had formal gardens and lawns – perhaps it was that very difference that took my parents there.
Here in London, you can go for picnics and have a barbecue; you can go to a park and wear bare feet, much like New Zealand. But there’s just so much buzz going on; you can be inspired by anything and everything. There’s always something to do. Always.
I did an open air gig in Regent’s Park and that’s an incredible venue because the sun sort of sets while you’re on stage and you can see the audience so brightly.
There’s no real downside to any sort of work that I do. I’m all so grateful for it, but I wouldn’t say that animated work is just a walk in the park. It is easy, it’s really fun, but I don’t know why I really stress myself out every time I’m about to go in.
A squirrel attacked me. I got attacked by a squirrel in Battersea Park. They’re dangerous. It’s rare. I’ve torn most of the ligaments in my knee. So no football for me. It’s early retirement now. I’ve got a floating knee-cap!
When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing – just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?
But if I ever fight in Northern Ireland again, I want it to be at Windsor Park.
I’m an actor because of movies like ‘Indiana Jones‘ and ‘Jurassic Park.’
When I grew up, we went to Coney Island and Central Park. We’d find our way to the water and watch the fireworks.
People are always like, 'Oh, 'Jurassic Park' is on...'

People are always like, ‘Oh, ‘Jurassic Park’ is on…’ or ‘Oh, ‘The River Wild’ is on…’ I actually haven‘t seen any of my movies in a long time. Being more self-aware now, and being an adult, I’m a little bit embarrassed to watch them.
Joseph Mazzello
None of us want to live in a society where people are forced to sleep in shop doorways, on park benches or in dangerous, run-down buildings.
Dollywood is a family park, and all families are welcome. We do have a policy about profanity or controversial messages on clothing or signs. It is to protect the individual wearing or carrying them, as well as to keep down fights or problems by those opposed to it at the park.
I studied natural resources planning and thought I could get a job at some marine park. But I was great at art and so-so at marine biology. It’s funny how the two eventually came together.
I’d park myself in the bookstore and read with one eye on everyone coming in. I remember reading a Robert Bly book of poetry.
It’s always strange going back to Villa Park for me.
I grew up a Red Sox fan. I grew up going to Fenway Park and the Museum of Fine Arts and the Science Museum and Symphony Hall and going to the Common, walking around. My whole family at different times lived and worked in Boston.
Wyoming, home to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons, is also the country’s largest coal producer and one of its largest gas drillers. Two-thirds of the state’s gas-drilling rigs are on public lands in the increasingly industrialized Greater Green River Basin.
First woman of colour, first Black person and first Jewish woman elected to lead a major federal party – it was never going to be a walk in the park.
We made this really dumb decision to put on the cover nothing from South Park but just a real life photo of a piece of pooh dressed up like Mr. Hankey, and a lot of people didn’t, they didn’t even know what it was.
Randall Park and Ali Wong, they are so many things; they’re not just one thing, they’re bigger than just their identity.
Park Hyung Sik is like Ahn Min Hyuk in that he is very playful and bright. Sometimes I wondered if it was even possible for someone to be as bright as he is.
All I need to make a comedy is a park, a policeman and a pretty girl.

People don’t remember each tree in a park but all of us benefit from the trees. And in a way, artists are like trees in a park.
South Park started as a little video Christmas card.
Joel Hodgson
I’ve always been fascinated by Disneyland and Disney World, and my favorite part of the park was always Tomorrowland.
The pace of the game has changed even while I’ve been a player. It always seems to be getting quicker. You need to be fast, quick to get around the park, need to be able to press and defend and get in peoples’ faces, and you need quality on the ball.
My happiest moments are when I’m with my family and when I go to the park at school with my friends.
Jacob Tremblay
The benefits of feminism for someone like my husband are fantastic. He can stay at home with the kids, he can take them to a park, he does the school run.
In our benighted age, when films about amusement park rides and electronic fidgets scoop the honours, perhaps Hollywood redux is the best we can hope for.
The biggest barrier to dealing with climate change is us: our own attachment to habits that are hard to shift, and our great ability to park or ignore uncomfortable choices.
We’re so surrounded by so much of this marketing and just being told on a regular basis that you have to like this, you will go here, you want this. I found that to me that fit perfectly into what a theme park of dinosaur would be about.
I realized eventually that when I ran out of places to stay and found myself on the D train and in Central Park, I was actually homeless.
When I was growing up, we used to play basketball in a park that was never shoveled when it snowed. The basketball rims were never fixed. And we understood then that there was a relationship between public policy and our quality of life.
DeForest Soaries
Walt put everything he knew about communication with images into the park, so it was very familiar.
There are people out there with three jobs and small children. Being an actor is a walk in the park compared to working as a cleaner overnight. I’m lucky I’m not plucking chickens.
I’d give a year of my life if I could hit a homerun on opening day of this great new park.
George Herman
When I started writing, I was reading people such as Tom Clancy or Michael Crichton, who did ‘Jurassic Park,’ which is possibly the most action-filled book you’ll read, apart from mine, and I said to myself, ‘Why aren’t these guys doing big-scale action like you would see in a movie?’
Matthew Reilly
The first thing I remember was going up to Celtic Park

The first thing I remember was going up to Celtic Park to watch Celtic, feeling the full effect of the stadium. When you see the players on the park for the first time, you get sucked in and it’s like a dream.
We live in the realm where all the metalheads and rock fans know us, but we’re not giants like Linkin Park or Black Sabbath.
I don’t really have an office or anything, and I like to have to move location every two hours. So I just kind of write in a park, on a bench, in the library, in a cafe, back to the library, that kind of thing.
Steve Toltz
My favorite place is Central Park because you never know what you’re going to find there. I also like that when I look out the windows of surrounding hotels, it’s seems like I’m looking out over a forest.
If you put me in ‘South Park,’ that audience is going to fall asleep in five minutes.
Because I write what I feel the most heavy about. So if there is one day of the week when I feel completely crushed by existential dread, I’ll end up writing about it, not the great day I had at the park with my friends. I hope it resonates with people – and it does, with some.
My first job was a commercial for Ball Park Fun Franks.
Hunter Parrish
The very best hotel I’ve stayed in is the Intercontinental on Park Lane. We went there for the Chelsea Flower Show a few years ago, and it was sheer luxury. Everybody had a smile on their face. I came home and changed all my pillows because the hotel ones were so beautiful.
I couldn’t do my show without spending 12 years on the streets of Humboldt Park. It made me a better interrogator. Still, if they had taken me out of my squad car and gave me a show, I would’ve been terrible. But on ‘Springer,’ the spotlight was on Jerry and I got to grow up within the show.
Steve Wilkos
I don’t know of a single park without serious environmental problems.
It’s like Liverpool. Everybody went for the music. All the young musicians seemed to gravitate to Asbury Park.
We do a lot of bird-watching up in the country, but we almost never have a chance to people-watch. There simply aren’t enough human beings up here: there is nowhere you can park yourself with a cup of coffee and observe the species on parade.
You were not wanted. You were, at best, tolerated. You had to be constantly on your guard, like an animal in a jungle full of beasts of prey. You experienced it all within the short distance of five miles from the gates of St. Peter‘s to Park Station in the city.
Even though the National Guard and Army Reserve see combat today, it rankles me that people assume it was some kind of waltz in the park back then.
We used to get one room and we’d park the vehicle outside, everybody would all take showers and we’d steal towels because we knew we wasn’t gonna have enough towels for all five of us to shower.

If I ever had to be on an amusement park ride, I probably wouldn’t get on one; I’m not a very adventurous person!
Tammin Sursok
I also love the makers of South Park, because they’re political, strong, and they’re making all of these comments that would get you shot for if you did it in a drama.
It’s not that every time India play they will have their best team on the park because there are bound to be injuries and other factors.
I accidentally saw David Byrne’s last two songs in Prospect Park at a free concert because I came out of a movie late, and he was still playing.
In St. Louis, some people were hurt seriously when some fans got on top of a roof that was where other fans were underneath it, at a park somewhere, and it collapsed.

In the 70s and 80s, Dad was ‘the most hated politician in Britain’. When I started at Holland Park school, the papers turned up and there was a photograph of me published – skinny me in white shorts lining up with lots of other kids for PE. And I was 10.
I grew up in Imperial Beach, surfing and going to the beach – my son plays baseball at the park.

Well, Smoke n’ Mirrors has very much a world music flavor and it doesn’t park itself in one country. It borrows heavily from the Brazilian angle, which is dear to my heart, and I recorded several albums with that flavor.
Lee Ritenour
I got to portray a park ranger on ‘Gilmore Girls,’ the reunion films. And when I was a kid, that was one of the things that I wanted to be – I wanted to be a forest ranger or park ranger.
