Families out there know that if they get in trouble and they’ve spent up a bunch of money and they’ve borrowed and they are up to hock to their necks, the thing they’ve got to do is start paying off what they owe and cut back their spending.
The idea of being in a televisionseries is a wonderful one to be considered, but you want to make sure it’s the right thing for you because if you are fortunate enough to have something go for a long term, you want to make sure that it’s something that you really want to be spending a bulk of your time on.
As long as women are in the work force making their own money and decisions, men are going to have to realize that this way of life is here to stay – because it takes two incomes to make it and more now. The sooner you address your style of saving and spending with your mate the better off your relationship will be.
I really enjoy spending Sundayevenings with friends, because Sunday evenings are always frightening. You are obsessed by the fact that you are working again the next day. And sometimes you get the blues. I always decide to spend it with friends. It’s very nice.
I’m very aware of my spending, but I’m not very aware of my income. There are certain times when I speak to my accountant, or something will pop up, and I’ll be like ‘oh’ but it’s not really a frontrunner in my head.
The rich pay more in total taxes now than ever before – ever. It’s true. Just like it’s true that when the rich are convinced they’re going to be taxed more, they spend less. And when the top few percenters don’t spend, there goes all your spending, because they account for half of all retail spending.
They realize that spending millions to save billions is just good business.
Look, I’m very much in favor of tax cuts, but not with borrowed money. And the problem that we’ve gotten into in recent years is spending programs with borrowed money, tax cuts with borrowed money, and at the end of the day that provesdisastrous. And my view is I don’t think we can play subtlepolicy here.
The Pentagon can’t even audit its own books. It doesn’t even know where its money is going. And we refuse to have the tough forces go on the Pentagon so that at least they are efficient with the money they’re spending.
I don’t think Donald Trump is a conservative. I think his line on Chinafor example, that he’s going to talk tough to China. China didn’t create Social Security, Medicare. China isn’t spending a fifth of a billion dollars every hour that it doesn’t have.
I’ll cheerfully confess to spending a lot of time playing completely disgustingcomputer games that have no redeeming social value.
The differencebetween American parties is actually simple. Democrats are in favor of higher taxes to pay for greater spending, while Republicans are in favor of greater spending, for which the taxpayers will pay.
But there’s not enough time in life to go sit at a party, have a drink, and make idle conversation. There’s too many important things to do. Just being together with my husband, spending time alone, which I have very little of.
Only by taking responsibility for oneself, to the greatest extent possible, can one ever be free, and only a free person can make responsible choices – between right and wrong, saving and spending, giving or taking.
The bottom line is, I hear my donors, I hear our base out there, I hear the leadership. And we’re taking steps to make sure that we’re even more – how shall we say it – fiscally conservative in our spending and certainly making sure the dollars are there when it’s time to run our campaigns.
And I have to tell you as a grandmother, I worry about the fact that my grandchildren are going to be paying for all the spending, including military spending, that has gone on and the tax cuts that have come through.
Spending an extra dollar on the D.C. public school system isn’t spending an extra dollar on education. Spending an extra dollar with the Pentagon doesn’t buy you an extra dollar on defense. Republicans need to look skeptically at military spending.
As long as we’re focused on spending, there are only two ways to do that: One is spend less, and Democrats have no solutions for that. Or we have pro-growth policies that make the economy grow so the dead-weight cost of government becomes a smallerpercentage of the economy and therefore less expensive.
If we had decided on January 5, in the new House of Representatives, to make no new spending bills, the debt ceiling would’ve still been hit, because, those are bills that are coming in as a result of purchases and commitments made by the administration and the previous Congress.
Cheap wine is defined by its price, and it depends on personal spending limits. So for me, any wine under $10 is cheap.

I really enjoy spending Sunday evenings with friends, because Sunday evenings are always frightening. You are obsessed by the fact that you are working again the next day. And sometimes you get the blues.

I think about how I’m spending my money, and I like to spend on my family.
You know, even people who talk about cutting spending and they go ‘That’s not the spending that I was actually talking about that you’re supposed to be cutting.’ Well, we have to be looking across the board.
Every year, I have to spend another hour working out. Pretty soon I’ll be spending eight hours working out just to fit in the costume. I have the feeling that the minute I stop doing the character, boom, Roseanne Barr.
We are not spending the Federal Government’s money, we are spending the taxpayer’s money, and it must be spent n a way which guarantees his money’s worth and yields the fullest possible benefit to the people being helped.
After years of working in professional kitchens, and then spending so much time in a lot of different home kitchens, I realized that there’s a huge gap in the market where you have people who develop cookware but who don’t actually cook.
I think women as well as men are concerned about jobs and the economy and spending and, and other issues. They’re concerned that when their kids graduate from college they have an economy and they have a future in this country and they, they have the same opportunity that we’ve had and our grandparents have had.
There’s so many companies that are spending so much money on 17-year-olds… I can’t compete with that. I’m not that guy anymore, they can’t dress me up and roll me out there and make me look good. I am what I am!
As we get older, we get better at choosing in ways that will make us happy. We do a better job at pickingactivities that make us happy, and at spending time with people who make us happy. We’re also better at letting things go.
Instead of focusing on growing jobs and reigniting our economy, President Obama focused on growing government and tried to remake the United States into the image of the debt-laden countries of Europe. His approach has been more spending, more regulation, and higher taxes.
The basic idea that if you increase government spending or you cut people’s taxes that stimulates the economy and lowers the unemployment rate, is a very widely accepted idea. It’s in every economics textbook, that’s what we teach our undergraduates, and I certainly try to teach them the truth.
I talked to a lot of employers who just are, are fearful of what’s coming next out of Washington. It’s all the spending, it’s all the debt. It’s their national energy tax, they want to call it cap and trade – more mandates, higher costs, more taxes. Their healthcare bill – more mandates, higher costs, higher taxes.
To me, spending millions of dollars recreating the world’s sadness with actors and props and sets – it seems like a kind of arrogant waste of money… Unless, that is, it’s a film about an historical event.
And so we go over the cliff fiscally, and our Republican friends try to pin the blame on discretionary domestic spending, including spending for security. We pass budget resolutions that fall far short.
I’d be a lot more excited about eliminating earmarks if we reduced all of the spending by whatever the earmarks used to be, but nobody‘s, apparently, going to talk about doing that.
The federal government is far larger than the Founding Fathers ever intended it to be. We have racked up over $16 trillion of debt through wasteful spending, and it is time that we cut that waste and start reducing the size of our government.
I am prepared to discuss the things that I believe we need to do not just to raise the debt limit. Raising the debt limit is the easiest thing. That’s one vote away. The hard thing is to show the world we are serious about putting our spending in order so we can show people we’ll able to pay our bills down the road.
There’s nothing in the First Amendment that even remotelytalks about spending money for political contests, and to say that an individual can spend as much of his or her own money as he or shewants constitutionally without any limitation, I think is just absurd.
When you’re the president of the United States and you know that the biggestissuefacing you is this cliff that we’re about ready to head over if we don’t get this spending and debt situation under control, it’s very irresponsible not to take the action that is necessary to fix the problem.
I had to learn – since I’m divorced now and everyone is like, ‘Oh my God, you’re single, what’s going on?’ – that if I don’t like to spend time with myself, how can I ask someone else to enjoy spending time with me? I’m getting to learn how to enjoy my solitude and have a good time.
This emergency spending measure is certainly only the beginning, since we here in Washington will continue to work closely with the president and emergency agencies to ensure they continue receiving the funding they need.
I would love to see the French spending money to restore Iraq.
In Congress, while the House’s proposed defense budgetcalls for significant increases, it also cuts 11 billion dollars from veterans spending – including healthcare and disability pay. Be clear: we can’t equate spending on veterans with spending on defense.
Without any formal personal finance education or trustworthy resources to tell them otherwise, the majority of people in the 18-to-24-year-old age bracket do not know how to use credit effectively, tackle debt or make wise decisions when it comes to spending.
Americans for Tax Reform is a national taxpayer organization dedicated to opposing any and all tax increases. We work at the national, state and local level for lower taxes, less government spending and limited government.
I have never believed in the fallacy that the federal government can buy its way out of economic troubles through needless spending. For that reason, I am proud to oppose ‘stimulus’ packages and endless corporate bailouts, which will do little but weaken the long-term integrity of the American economy.
I think it’s wrong to compromise your values to fit in with the social climate in Washington, D.C. When it comes to spending, I’m not compromising. I don’t care who, what, when or where, I’m not compromising.
There is a difference between strategic or technical default and default where you really don’t have the economy to support the spending. We are not at that point yet. We could be. We could be, like some Europeannations.
To reduce deficit spending and our enormous debt, you reign in spending. You cut the budget. You don’t take more from the private sector and grow government with it. And that’s exactly what Obama has in mind with this expiration of Bush tax cuts proposal of his.
You can still love your job and feel guilty. You can still love your child and feel guilty. There’s a lot of grey in that. It’s about being conscious when you are spending time with your kids, being with them in the moment.
I think it’s important that people know what raising the debt ceiling is. It’s Congress giving permission to the federal government to borrow more money that we don’t have, and we borrow it for the purpose of spending it.
Will some reporter, or some Republican on the Sunday shows, please ask why tax cuts raid the non-existent Social Security Trust Fund but all the Democrats’ new spending doesn’t? Will someone please ask that?
HBO spent a huge amount of money on ‘Game Of Thrones,’ and it won’t be able to keep spending the money if it can’t make it back from people watching it legitimately. It will have an effect on the quality of the programme.
Organizations talk about spending their lives firefighting – dealing with the next problem without having the bandwidth to deal with what is down the pipeline. I think most of the poor have that problem.
We do not have a revenue problem in D.C. or this county. We have a prioritization problem. When you create the priorities you fund the priorities of the country and you stop spending money when you get to zero.
You eventually have to figure out how to balance the books. So that’s the reason I gave up my day job to come do this was to go fight to create the space where spending matches America’s capacity to tax, and that means economic growth and a smaller, humbler federal government.
I am going to give the American people a huge helping of unbridled truth: that we can’t continue to spend what we are spending, that we can’t avoid entitlement reform because we are afraid of thirdrailpolitics.
I love to play games. Anything that is competitive. I love to play darts, shoot pool, any video game or board game, anything like that I am all about. For me is more about spending time with somebody, hanging out and enjoying yourself.
Raising the debt ceiling is not additional spending. It is simply saying, you, the United States of America, can continue to borrow the money you need to pay the bills you have already rung up.
I have learned so much from working with other poets, travelling and reading with them, spending days discussing poems in progress. There is the sense that we are all, as writers, part of something which is more powerful than any of us.
Lincoln said you cannot be President without spending some item on your knees. I have repeated that and a bunch of Atheists got all over me. Wait a minute. Does that mean that you cannot be President if you are an Atheist? I say yea that does mean that.
The sheermagnitude of Speaker Pelosi’s spending spree is mind boggling. Most of us do not use the number 1,000,000,000,000 in our daily lives, so it is difficult to attachtangible value to the figure.
We are spending more money on bond holders than we are on our own citizens. It took 204 years to have this happen. The other party will not even allow a recorded vote on this issue so that we can see how people stand on that issue.
It is essential that there should not only be a limit on campaign spending but it should be required to say where that money is spent and how it is spent. I think there has been more abuse in campaign spending, actually, than in campaign contributors.
I wouldn’t mind spending a little more time and effort and money on good skin care. And I’m sure they’ll come out with, as they are doing, with more and more treatments that are noninvasive and healthy ways to keep your face looking as good as it can.
Style, I think, is panache. Who are you? What did you do today? And what are you worth to me? What do you have to offer the world? How did you spend your time today on this planet? How are you spending your time every second? What are you doing now? Are you alive, or are you somnambulant?
I found myself at the beginning of ‘Mad Men,’ because I wasn’t a sample size, spending an exorbitant amount of money on a nice dress that I would never wear again because someone would say – ‘Christina Hendricks wore this dress twice.’
Anything that’s done to address unemployment in terms of massive stimulus spending is going to exacerbate deficits. And anything that’s done to address deficits in the short-term is going to exacerbate unemployment.
I was always into fashion, and used to go on spending sprees when I was a university student in Miami. My father would be furious, but I would always say, ‘It was an emergency! I had a party to go to!’
I would like to have the superpower of being able to touch a book and then gain all the knowledge out of that book without spending hours and days reading it.
I couldn’t do my show without spending 12 years on the streets of Humboldt Park. It made me a better interrogator. Still, if they had taken me out of my squad car and gave me a show, I would’ve been terrible. But on ‘Springer,’ the spotlight was on Jerry and I got to grow upwithin the show.
Pre-preproduction is the tenuous time before a project is greenlit; before the studio commits to spending real money. This is the most vulnerableperiod for any film because it’s the time when your project is most likely to be put into turnaround. That’s film-speak for killed off.
Living standards in both the public and private sector have to be brought down. The private sector has to sell more abroad and consume less at home. The government sector has to get closer to just spending what it can collect in taxes.
After spending the 1980s building up Saddam‘s Iraq as a counterweight to Iran, U.S. policy abruptly reversedcourse with his invasion of Kuwait and has since tried to cut him down to size. The policy is called ‘containment,’ but the question is, containment of what?
I went through all my electric bills, the water bills, the phone bills, elevator contracts, and I found enough wasteful spending without reducing any programs anywhere, without reducing any services, I found enough wasteful spending to pay my entire salary for three years.
The studio is spending great amounts of money, and they want some insurance they will get money back. They go for the middle of the road, broad in appeal. It’s restrictive. It’s a constantstruggle, but if you give in, you’re just making cottagecheese, and that’s the end of it.
If you wait to see how much money you have left at the end of the month to put toward savings, the answer may be zero. So, set up an automated monthly transfer from your checking to savings account. Once you lock into that commitment, you’ll be forced to scale back spending to make ends meet.
Instead of being with my family, I was spending a lot of time trying to start all over again, from zero, in another country. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I went back to Mexico and said, ‘I’m gonna do my own stuff.’ So, I did my movie that I was trying to do for many, many years, called ‘Instructions Not Included.’
Educators are still spending way too much time trying to control what kids learn, bending the content to their own purposes, hoping beyond hope to change – by using technology – but not change too much.
Take Hispanic voters. They favor Democrats because they like the party’s programs, from health care reform to government spending on education. It’s not because the Republicans don’t have a big enough Office of Hispanic Outreach.
Conservatives should insist that defense spending be examined with the same seriousness that we demand in examining the books of those government agencies that spend taxpayer money in the name of welfare, the environment, or education.
There are so many forms of love. Spending time with friends, love stories. I enjoy showing my love by baking a cake for somebody and writing his or her name on it, and seeing his or her reaction. I love to offer flowers, too!
The number of realists who are betting that both the ‘economy gets healthy soon’ and this government gets spending under control is a tiny group, indeed.
Landing a million-dollar investment for your startup is exhilarating. But as big as that number sounds, it doesn’t go far. Many startups just getting off the ground won’t have a CFO to monitor finances. It doesn’t take much for spending to spiral out of control.
I’ve enjoyedprogramming on NPR, but ‘we’re broke’ and therefore all spending must be reduced.
Jaime Herrera Beutler
I’m finding myself really angry over spending and the deficit. I’m finding myself really angry over what’s happening in the Middle East, the decision to stay in Afghanistan indefinitely. I’m angry about cap and trade. And I’ve been on record for a long time on the failed war on drugs.
Infrastructure is one of the core responsibilities of government and one that cannot be shortchanged by other controversial spending. I believe investment in infrastructure paysdividends for decades and is a wise investment of taxpayer dollars.
Douglas R. Oberhelman
It is one of my pethates when I see players who have agents who do everything for them. They don’t know how to set up their own bank accounts, they don’t know what they are spending their money on and they can’t make their own decisions.
My submission to you is we’re fighting the war on terror not overseas but in our own streets, and we’d be spending vast more fortunes to try to be a defensive country to protect ourselves rather than an offensive country to spreaddemocracywherever people yearn for it.
We benefit from doing nothing, from going out to play, from giving from the heart and spending time in nature. Most of all we benefit from having healthy, strong, and loving relationships with other people and from exercising the altruisticparts of ourselves.
The folks celebratingJim Bunning are seeing him as an anti-government, anti-spending activist. But to embrace Jim Bunning is to embrace a strange record, if you really are a libertarian, if you really are a deficit hawk, if you really care about spending and responsibility.
Many businesses fail because the owner wasn’t willing to invest and wasn’t educated on the difference between spending money frivolously and investing money into the business for growth, and the risks and rewards of that cash infusion.
Deficits mean future tax increases, pure and simple. Deficit spending should be viewed as a tax on future generations, and politicians who create deficits should be exposed as tax hikers.
You’ve got to either say you’re going to cut taxes and find some spending cuts. I think we ought to reform long-term entitlement spending in the country, but you can’t out of one side of your mouth say, ‘Yes, we’re for tax cuts, we’re for spending discipline, and we’re for bringing down the debt.’
What I want to do is to make sure that we fully repeal Obamacare. This will be one of the largest spending initiatives we will ever see in our country. And also, it will take away choice from the American people.
My grandfather, or Nana Ji, as we called him, was a family legend. Amarnath Vidyalankar spent his life fighting for India‘s independence, which included spending four years in prison in Mahatma Gandhi‘s movement. I still remember the conversations we had together, many of them while playing chess.
People spending more of their own money on routine health care would make the system more competitive and transparent and restore the confidence between the patients and the doctors without government rationing.
My audience loves seeing me pump large amounts of money into action and sets. And it works. I’m not saying that films made within a budget are wrong. But when audiences come to see my film with their families, I guess they are spending at least 10 per cent of their monthly income. I don’t want to cheat them.
You read about poor people having Botox go wrong and you think: ‘Well, what the bloody hell were you doing?’ Why would you inject yourself with poison? And why are we spending so much time looking at ourselves? I just don’t get it.
Well, in the past, the size of government was one of the more fundamental dividinglines between Right and Left. The Right was supposed to represent the small government philosophy – limited spending, low taxes. Obviously, things have shifted.
It is being alleged that the Federal Government is ‘cutting’ spending. In fact, we are not ‘cutting’ anything. Defense spending under this budget would rise by 4.3 percent over last year. Other discretionary spending would also rise.
I watched Reagan turn around the country by lowering taxes and controlling spending, and I’m applying the same principles.
In the lexicon of the political class, the word ‘sacrifice‘ means that the citizens are supposed to mail even more of their income to Washington so that the political class will not have to sacrifice the pleasure of spending it.
I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with Speaker Boehner, Leader Cantor, WhipMcCarthy and the entire republican conference as we repeal Obamacare, fight rampant job killing regulations, cut spending and help put folks back to work.
The fact is, if our primarylegislativegoals are to repeal and replace the health spending bill; to end the bailouts; cut spending; and shrink the size and scope of government, the only way to do all these things it is to put someone in the White House who won’t veto any of these things.
I am urging Americans to be more careful about the kinds of media we support with our consumer spending. We’ve got to invest less in the media that glorifies violence and more in entertainment that lifts up the values of love, compassion, and the best in human nature.
I stopped buying Sunday papers about 15 years ago, because you’d buy handfuls of them, and what you got, because the hard news comes from so many other channels, was opinionpieces. You’re better off spending the money on a good novel.
I don’t understand why people set limits, like I will buy a house, then car, and so on. But I ask them, what after you’ve achieved all that? I have come to realize the value other things, like nature, or spending time with my family in Ludhiana or peace of mind.
I enjoy spending time with my family. And when my family’s not around, when I’m on the road, a lot of sleep. I get my rest. I understand how important my job is and how important rest is to that job. I’m pretty boring.
For me, I think being a conservative means you are focused on all four key principles: strong defense, lower taxes, less spending, and defending traditional American values.
I learned to basically pull my own weight, just do my own thing. I spent a lot of time alone and I loved it. It was actually really great because to the present day I love spending time alone. I go bicycling alone, go climbing alone and I just love being with myself and observing myself and learning something.
My goal was to do the best job I could in governing the state of Wisconsin, in some cases making very tough decisions to have to bring our spending in line with the resources we had at the state level.
I have a record as governor. I have a record of cutting spending. And I talked yesterday not only about we ought to cut spending, I talked about how we’ve cut spending in Mississippi and how if you did the same things in the federal government, you would save tens of billions of dollars a year.
Chance is the one thing you can’t buy. You have to pay for it and you have to pay for it with your life, spending a lot of time, you pay for it with time, not the wasting of time but the spending of time.
We need transparency in government spending. We need to put each government expenditure online so every Floridian can see where their tax money is being spent.
Imagine spending seven years at MIT and research laboratories, only to find out that you’re a performance artist.
People have had certain assumptions in the past about Conservative governments, partly because of some of the things that happened in the 1980s, and partly because of the tone of some of the debate in the 1980s that appeared to say public spending on the arts was something you might want to progressively reduce.
I love being around my friends and my family and spending time with my husband. I like being normal and recharging my batteries, and I feel like I have the coolest job in the world where I get to get on stage and perform and get to do a lot of really amazing things.
I love going to conventions, and I love spending time with the fans and going to parts of the world where I wouldn’t normally go.
Easy was, like, spending time with Jennifer on set. Difficult stuff about character is, it was a little bit like just being the only one with no superhumanpowers.
Life is difficult. Not just for me or other ALS patients. Life is difficult for everyone. Finding ways to make life meaningful and purposeful and rewarding, doing the activities that you love and spending time with the people that you love – I think that’s the meaning of this human experience.
Time has changed and now is the age of spending.
I love spending time with my dog, my niece and my family. I’m very family-oriented.
It’s a funny thing – when I’m crazed with work, spending time with my children relaxes me. Yet, at the end of a long weekend with them, the very thing I need to relax is a little work and time away from them!
Spending is not caring. Spending is what politicians do instead of caring. Spending more does not guarantee success. Politicians like to measure spending because it is easier than measuring actual metrics of accomplishment.
The American people want a balanced budget. They want Congress to stop this barbaric practice of perpetual deficit spending. It really, if you think about it, is a form of taxation without representation. We fought a war over that issue and we won that war.
I would argue heavily that the time that has been allocated to social used to come from television, and people are benefitting from it. People who are saying, ‘Aw, you’re spending all your time on Facebook, or all your time on Twitter,’ I’d like to understand what the person used to do with that time.
Some of the best times I’ve spent in Colorado have been in the backcountry with my mom and siblings, and more recently, with my own kids. That is why I’m concerned to see today’s kids spending more time browsing the Internet than exploring nature.
Look at our society. Everyone wants to be thin, but nobody wants to diet. Everyone wants to live long, but few will exercise. Everybody wants money, yet seldom will anyone budget or control their spending.
In a very weak economy, when you say ‘cut government spending,’ what you mean is you’re laying off school teachers and you’re de-funding various programs that put money into the economy. This means you have more unemployed people that then draw unemployment benefits and don’t pay taxes.
The Republican argument that raising the debt ceiling encourages additional future spending is logically irresponsible. The debt ceiling has to be raised to authorize spending already approved by Congress. Despite that fallacy, the GOP has been able to score political points with its argument.
In order to have the success with ‘Empire,’ you have to have Fox; you have to have huge P&A. You have to have huge budgets for the show. I’m pretty confident that the budget of ‘Empire’ is six times what I’m spending on ‘Have And Have Nots.’
I worry about the kids who have too much. As a parent living in a so-called good neighborhood with children who went to private high school, I found myself spending much time in parent groups worrying about alcohol, unsupervised parties, and parents not being parents.
I think the most fun part about working on ‘Good LuckCharlie‘ is spending time with everyone, honestly, because everybody on set is like my brother and sister and mom and dad. They’re so fun to be around, so that’s probably the best part about working there.
Bradley Steven Perry
Today is the day for the complaining to end and for statesmanship to begin. Today I am taking action to cut state spending and balance the budget this year.
Pray a little more, work a little harder, save, wait, be patient and, most of all, live within our means. That’s the American way. It’s not spending ourselves into prosperity or taxing ourselves into prosperity.
It’s not in my nature to chop people’s heads off, per se, or rob a bank or any crazy thing I’ve done on screen. I’m just comfortable reading a book or spending time with my wife and my daughter or watching the fight on TV with the fellas.
When people are around us, they should leave better off than they were previously. Rather than feeling discouraged or defeated, people should feel challenged and inspired after spending any time with you and me.
We have got to cut the spending. We have got to fix Medicare and Social Security. And actually, if we don’t cut spending, this country is already broke. We are going off the financial cliff: the big cliff that is going to cause a total economic collapse of America.
You can’t please everyone. When you’re too focused on living up to other people’s standards, you aren’t spending enough time raising your own. Some people may whisper, complain and judge. But for the most part, it’s all in your head. People care less about your actions than you think. Why? They have their own problems!
I like something about George W. Bush. A lot. After spending more than a decade having almost physiological-chemical reactionsanytime I saw him, getting the heebie-jeebies whenever he spoke – after being sure from the start that he was a Gremlin on the wing of America – I really like the paintings of George W. Bush.
The state is out of control, the state is on a spending binge, the state has to stop putting itself in a hole that’s getting deeper and deeper and deeper.
The Bank of England’s Carney is worried the shock of Britain’s vote to leave the E.U. could cause households and businesses to temporarily halt spending, which could stop the economy and even spur a recession.
Well, you have the public not wanting any new spending, you have the Republicans not wanting any new taxes, you have the Democrats not wanting any new spending cuts, you have the markets not wanting any new borrowing, and you have the economists wanting all of the above. And that leads to paralysis.
Now, I learned soon enough, that among the three, two don’t trust the third one – the third one is the government. Both industry and unions feel the government is a talking organization and a spending organization.
I don’t know much about auctions. I sometimes go to previews and see art sardined into uglyrooms. I’ve gawked at the gaudy prices, and gaped at well-clad crowds of happy white people conspicuously spending hundreds of millions of dollars.
We see people voting for bills that their ideals and principles are opposed to, but because their little funding project is in there, they’re voting for it. We might say it’s one percent of all spending but the impact of that spending is far greater.
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time writing, acting, and making films. Because I’m doing all this extra writing, acting, and creating short comedy skits with my friends in improv shows, I feel like that’s really filled out my confidence on the mic.
