When I come up with a melody in my head, it could be anywhere: in the shower, on the plane, in bed – often when I’m on the go. I’ll record it on my phone with my own voice, humming. When I get to the studio, I check which melodies work.
I think that having a job in journalism, despite all of the changes, is still a fantastic way to be – make a living observing your society and having a chance to use your voice.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
There are many women who came before me who didn’t really have the same opportunities that I have had. That’s why I always wanted to be a great ambassador – not only today’s generation – but for the women who really didn’t have a voice, but who paved the way for me.
