That moment in ‘Broadcast News’ where HollyHunter is told how great it is to be the smartest person in the room, and she cries and says it’s awful – I definitely have moments like that sometimes, moments when introspection and drive can be lonely-making. And it doesn’t help that I have a partner who is very work-oriented.
If someone hacks your password, you can change it – as many times as you want. You can’t change your fingerprints. You have only ten of them. And you leave them on everything you touch; they are definitely not a secret.
I found poetry at 12 and 13 and, lo and behold, learned that my attorney father had a background in poetry – as he wore dashikis and Afros in the ’70s and named his kids Arabicnames. He was a poet and a lot like The Last Poets and Gil Scott-Heron and all of these folks. He definitely was an artist.
Warhol was definitely an inspiration when I was younger. I wouldn’t quantify his sort of influence. I’ve been influenced by nature and science, and I’ve been influenced by people like Ernst and Rauschenberg, Cornell and Bosch and Bruegel, by writers like Haruki Murakami to Pablo Neruda to Artaud.

I really appreciate working with Skip and Stephen A. and value their opinions. There’s definitely been growing pains, but I know they have my best interests at heart. Definitely in the West, we’re all cast as the same now. Whether you’re Indian, Pakistani, Arab, Iranian, Afghan or whatever, you just get thrown into this category. And nine times out of 10, you’re depicted as bad.
When I first started writing, I was living in England and I had that uniquely English sense of sarcasm, which has definitely seemed to have left me. I am a naturalized American and my sensibility has become far more American.
It definitely has learning a lesson about the way you’re living your life. I wouldn’t compare our movie to that, but it has a structure where it’s about a man who doesn’t appreciate all that he has and finds out at the end that life has been great and he has to enjoy that.
Growing up, I had an internal struggle with my body because I was really chubby. My sisters were younger, and they were all skinny and all cute. As a teen, I definitely had, like, an extra 30 pounds of weight.

I think, for anybody – not even when you’re on stage – it’s good to dress in the way that you’re comfortable; it definitely boosts your confidence. If you’re worried about what you look like the whole time, you’re not going to be able to be confident.
Let’s be honest, I don’t think anyone ever wants to settle down in Hollywood – it’s a place you go to work. And once you’ve hit it, you get out of there as soon as you can. It’s definitely not a place you want to get married and have kids.
It was a great time here in the States this year, and definitely I feel like I’m playing well again. I gained a lot of confidence in the last couple of weeks, and I just have to, you know, keep going and keep the momentum now.

People think because it’s photography it’s not worth as much, and because it’s a woman artist, you’re still not getting as much – there’s still definitely that happening. I’m still really competitive when it comes to, I guess, the male painters and male artists. I still think that’s really unfair.
Know what is in your heart. But definitely go to school and learn as much as you can, and if wrestling is still what you want, find a good wrestling school and kind of learn as much information about it as you can. If I did it, this tiny thing, anyone can do it.
I used to just scribble things on a piece of paper whenever an idea would – came to mind. Now with cell phones. It definitely has gotten a lot easier because I can just take it out and just – I’ll just sing into my phone.
I feel like my entire career and life, I’ve been judged by people who did not really know me. I definitely think that they probably were right to assume what they had assumed about me, because there was such little to go on out there.
I often explain it to people that if you listen to a Who record and then go see the Who live, it’s like two different bands. That’s how Humble Pie worked. We were definitely a lot more ferocious live because of the energy that the entire population of us had.
I used to be really insecure about my self-education. I’m definitely always learning. But there’s many ways to learn. There are many, many ways to always be a learner.
I think ‘Family Guy’ and ‘American Dad’ have definitely staked out their own style and territory, and now the accusations are coming that ‘The Simpsons‘ is taking jokes from ‘Family Guy.’ And I can tell you, that ain’t the case.
Well, I definitely have an artistic side to me as well. I write, I act, I draw. With that artistic mind I have, a lot of doors have opened for me. I can try to pursue, like – if it’s something using my writing skills, maybe a book. Or maybe if it’s my drawing skills, some clothingdesigns.

A typical Sunday meal will be brunch at 11 A.M. I’ll probably do muffins, proper scrambled eggs and sweetcorn fritters, which the kids love. Kedgeree’s another thing I like, and if any of the West Indian family are over, definitely ackee and saltfish.
I surf – that’s the one thing I make time to do. I definitely surf a lot, but when you’re working 15 hour days… all I want to do is get home to my baby.

JuliaRoberts most definitely would play me in the film of my life. Not just because of the hair but because she has all sides to her personality come through in films that I could just imagine her playing my crazy self so well.
The worst part about pregnancy would definitely have to be my nausea. I don’t know why it’s just called morning sickness because morning sickness never just happened in the morning for me and it’s not happening just in the morning for my sister.
Instant attraction is natural, flirting can also happen. But building a relationship takes time. We can’t control our emotions. If you feel for someone, it will definitely show on your face. But I definitely can’t fake a love story on national television for the footage.
In America, they don’t need to look outside their country for anything, so they definitely don’t need to look elsewhere for rappers with weird accents that they have to get accustomed to, which is like homework to them.
I didn’t deserve to get my titlestripped after three ACL reconstructions. I didn’t deserve to be out for four years. But it happened to me, and so I definitely learned over the years that you don’t deserve anything. Nothing you have is yours. Everything is up for grabs in this world.
When you look at the… atmosphere on the limb of the Earth, I wouldn’t say it looksunhealthy, but it definitely looks very, very fragile and just kind of like this thin film, so it looks like something that we definitely need to take care of.
My favorite room in the house is my kitchen. It’s definitely the heart and soul of our home. It’s where we gather in the morning as a family to start the day, and it’s where we wind down at night over supper.
I have never been in a serious relationship and never had a break-up, so I can’t tug on my heartstrings that way. But whenever I experience a strong emotion in life, I definitely have to throw myself into my songwriting. It is very therapeutic.
If you were to ask me when I was 17 if I was mad because I didn’t have a deal, I would have probably said, ‘Yeah.’ Now I’m so glad I got it when I got it. People tell you to be patient and wait. Patience is not a virtue of mine, but I think everything definitely happened the right way for me.
I’m definitely one of those actresses who comes to a set knowing how I want to do a scene, and I definitely love input from my directors and my writers. I know that there’s some actors who like to be left alone, they like to be very independent, but I actually really enjoy the teamwork.

I definitely feel like there’s a lot of terrible things on the Internet, obviously. You can really pretty much find anything on there. It’s pretty awful. And the crazy thing is that we don’t even access that much of it – it’s like the dark web or whatever. It’s the other Internet that we don’t even access.
When I was on the podium singing the national anthem, and the crowd were all singing it, it was definitely… It was a moment to remember, and I’m going to remember it for the rest of my life.
Hip-hop definitely taught me a lot. Having to create your own identity and become known and respected in a male-dominated field – it requires some guts. There are times you have to be strong, and times when you have to stand alone for what you believe in.
I definitely devote so much more time to acting, but since it only takes a day or two to shoot and get pictures out – whereas for acting, you do an audition, or loads, and you might not get any of them – so I did the modeling stuff because, obviously, if I have the opportunity, I’m going to take it.
I want to look at the whole package, but I definitely want to protect the middle-class taxpayer, first and foremost.
As you move through the application process, keep refining the way you present yourself. Like any skill, you’ll only get better with practice, and you’ll only hurt yourself if you get discouraged too early. This is one race that’s definitely a marathon, not a sprint.
You can be a pretty face, but if you’re not a nice person, it just doesn’t work. I’m not traditionally a beauty, but apparently people think I’m all right. If you’re a nice person, it definitely helps.
There’s definitely a list of things I’d like to do. But there’s been a lot of things I hadn’t even thought would have been possible to do that I’d been able to do, so I think I’ll surprise myself and keep breaking that glassceiling to see what’s next. Hopefully people get surprised – that’s my main goal.

I don’t think I’m misunderstood, but there is definitely a certain side of me that the press focuses on – my body, my hair, or who I’m dating – which has never really served me as an actor. It’s served me in the commercial world, making money as a model, but the media perception has really hindered my acting career.
I think people have a misconception of me, period. My life has been a whirlwind sometimes, but it’s different to what people think. I definitely feel like there’s a misconception about me and who I am.

At the end of the day, everything is God’s plan, and he cares about what we do. He cares about our hearts, how we play the game, and how we treat people. He’s definitely involved with how we handle sports and not just the outcome of it. I’m proud when athletesmention God in any way.
I don’t like extremely long movies. I tend to get a bit impatient. There are definitely exceptions, like ‘Lawrence of Arabia,’ but for the most part, I feel that movies should usually be shorter and not longer.
I just always knew I wanted to be an actor. I gave my Emmy acceptance speech when I was 11. But, I wasn’t allowed to do plays and things like that. It was considered dangerous. I have been hated by the whole world and it’s been something to definitely overcome.
I’m very very happy for my hardships and misfortunes: they build character and make you a better person. I like to be involved as much as I can in the game, and in the middle, you’re definitely the heartbeat of the team. When you’re on the right, you can go minutes without seeing the ball, and that’s a long time when you’re out on the pitch.
I definitely started to perform a little bit in middle school, but not the typical musical/play route. I think that I am funny, but it was more of a social thing, where that was my part in my circle of friends.
I’ve definitely, you know, been with women. And I’ve had great relationships with them where I was definitely in love. It’s just I grew to a point where deep inside I knew that I could never truly have a relationship with a woman. I don’t know if they ever suspected. It was never brought up.
I did two commercials, one for Porsche, but I was definitely not the type of child one would cast in a commercial or any TV that you’d typically go out for as a young kid. I wasn’t the type of kid who would be in stuff that kids watch. I wasn’t cutesy.
I think there are definitely positives when you go back to the familiar, because it’s something you don’t have to think about when you know the place. But sometimes on the other hand, it can be quite unchallenging.

Upsi is definitely the more romantic of the two. I am more laid back. We do have our differences of opinion sometimes. Upsi is always the first one to break the ice after an argument or a difference of opinion. That’s what I love most about her.
When I look out at the audience at some of our shows, I think we are reaching a younger audience… I see lots of people in their 30s and 40s, but I also see a lot of people in their young and middle teens, and that’s definitely reassuring.

I like feet. I definitely have a fetish. I love to see a man’s bare foot, but its got to be taken care of. If they’re not well manicured, you’ve got to wonder what the rest of him is like. I don’t want to get in bed with somebody and feel his gnarly feet.
As far as viewpoints, I think I’m more well-rounded and definitely more educated, and probably more hopeful than I used to be. I think when you’re young and you get into a cause, you get frustrated with it within a few years, or six months.
Normally, when someone we love is turning away from a struggle, we self-protect by also turning away. That’s definitely my first response. I think change is more likely to happen if both partners have common language and a shared lens to see problems.

Louis E. Boone

I was definitely not the kid that just wanted to be famous for no reason whatsoever and then happened to find comedy. Fame and all that stuff have always been slightly terrifying to me, and it makes me very anxious.

As a naturally reserved and quiet person, it’s definitely a challenge being thrust into this atmosphere of celebrity and everything that comes along with that. Some parts I’m resisting more than others but can’t for much longer, so I’m just trying to find a way to make sense of it all.
The way I’ve always approached it is if we’re winning and people want to talk about me, it’s fine. If we’re losing, then you really get on me, and I’ll definitely try to be better to help us win. But I’m fine with it, as long as we’re winning and we’re playing good basketball.
It’s usually the exact same three things which are, the Scripts, the Director and the Role those are the three things I look for and really any two of them, If I get two of them that’s usually enough, but definitely those are the things I look for.

I definitely gravitate towards things like vegetables, chicken, brown rice, but I don’t deprive myself of anything. If I want a Sprinkles cupcake, I’m having a Sprinkles cupcake. But I’m not going to have one every day… you just have to have a sensibleoutlook on all of it.
Sometimes I use a bungee, one of those bungee cords that offer resistance training. I find that useful. Like, I’ll go out and hit a backhand or a forehand with resistance. Because when you get rid of the resistance, you’ve recruited more musclefibers, and it definitely helps with speed.
The common thread between ‘Moon Shoes’ and ‘MidnightMoonlight‘ would definitely be their connection to the moon. However, I feel they both capture a very different quality of the moon. Perhaps ‘Moon Shoes’ epitomizes the moon during the summer, while ‘Midnight Moonlight’ the winter.
The iPhone is like ‘omakase’, the style of sushi where the chefchooses what you’re going to eat, and might even tell you how to eat it – no wasabi allowed on this, no soysauce allowed on that. Definitely no California rolls.

I used to spray tan a lot when I was a teenager. The last time I got spray-tanned was for the Golden Globes. And I was like, ‘I love spray-tanning so much.’ I still really like it. But it definitely makes me look like I have leprosy, after a point.
We’re given this platform and this voice and this audience. We can either use it for ourselves or we can use it to bring awareness to issues that are going on in the world. I’m definitely on the side of using that microphone for good because you can touch so many people.
There is a lot of kissing in ‘Boeing-Boeing.’ A lot! And not pecks on the cheek or lips – although there’s some of that, too – but full-on, farcical liplocks. My poor husband. He definitely wasn’t prepared for as much smooching as there is.
I was forced, more or less, to go to anger management. I was either going to make myself and everyone around me miserable, or I was going to realize that there’s more than one person on this Earth. It definitely has made me a better person.
My parents are the hardest-working people I ever knew: they always worked every day, all day; they had to come up with the solutions to make things work. And I think that work ethic, maybe stubbornness, single-mindedness, definitely played a role for me. I’m definitely thankful for my roots.
I’m not a religious person by any means. But I certainly believe in some kind of a higher power and something looking out for me. I’ve definitely had angels that have either guided me or helped me through moments in my life, without a doubt.

I definitely try to mix humour into anything I do, even if it is into a drama.

I played soccer for nine years, so I took that route instead of singing. I played on the outside team as well as in school, so I was always playing soccer. It wasn’t until I moved back to London that I really, like, started investing in music again and realized, OK, yeah, this is definitely what I want to do.
I was definitely not the cocky kid. I was probably on the other end of the spectrum – I was quiet. I remember a time when there was a skills competition, and I think I was five, and I was so nervous to even compete that I chose not to do the skating part.
I was one of those kids who tended to stay in on Saturday nights. My mother used to come and say, ‘Why don’t you go to the dance with the boys?’ And I’m going, ‘No, I’m perfectly happy.’ I think my parents thought I was definitely weird.
I took two or three months and I came up with a reason that I thought was enough and I went with it: if there is a God he’s definitely not benevolent. We should mean less to him than ants. And if there is a God or there are gods they would value, more than anything, free will.
Back in the day, cooking definitely was the thing where you could make a lot of money. Also, it was something that I liked to do.

Since Beau’s death, I’m definitely shattered. I feel like a piece of china that’s been glued back together again. The cracks may be imperceptible-but they’re there. Look closely, and you can see the glueholding me together, the precariousedges that vein through my heart. I am not the same. I feel it every day.
I lived on my own when I was living in New York City when I was 18, working on a show. And that definitely kind of grows you up a little faster than a normal 18-year-old in college, so I think so. I think I’ve got some street smarts.

It has always been a goal of mine to climb Kilimanjaro, so that’s definitely happening, and I may write a memoir about it. When I was 25, I tried to trek to Everest Base Camp, but I got sick and ended up being carried out of Dingboche on the back of my Sherpa. So Kilimanjaro would represent a redemption of sorts.
In five years’ time I’d like to be a mum. I want to settle down and have a family, definitely sooner rather than later. I’d like to have finished my second album too, maybe even my third. I’d like a sound that sticks around that other people are inspired by and that people know is me.
I definitely have had a couple of years where I’ve been working constantly, but it never goes away, that worry that you’ll never work again. It’s a funny job. It never gets easier. Rejection never gets easier.
I definitely try to keep some level of style on my days off because you never know who’s going to snap your picture.

There is definitely a sense that when you, as a CIA ops officer… are handling assets, they are delivering to you their trust and their well-being. And you feel very protective of them, even if they’re not very nice people.
When 25 percent of the population believe the President should be impeached and 51 percent of the population believe in UFOs, you may or may not need a new President, but you definitely need a new population.
There is never going to be an end point. But definitely, I am happy to complete a certain part of my journey, and that’s something I want to celebrate.
At one point, I was in a place where it didn’t feel like it was going to happen, and I was feeling pretty down on myself. But I stuck to it, and now I have a hit comedy on my hands. You’ve got to keep plugging away at it. If you really believe in yourself, you can definitely make it happen.
The first eight years in Mumbai were specially tough. I knew during the first two months of my stay that there’s no point waiting for hours to meet producers. They won’t meet you and definitely won’t give you a role.
I’m not a hermit, but I definitely stay in a lot more than I used to. There’s more attention now then there ever was. You walk down the street with someone and it’s a story. It becomes national news, you know what I mean? So, I still do things, but I stay home a lot more.
JJ Abrams is definitely a guy that when he calls, you want to answer. He’s incredibly focused. When he was shooting the pilot on ‘Lost,’ we’d do a take and he’d go back to his tent and be working on the first episodes of ‘Lost’ as well as the cliffhanger for the eighth season of ‘Alias.’ He’s an incredible multitasker.
The mist was so challenging and the winds hit me, definitely more than I expected. It was definitely those winds, you can’t re-enact them, you can’t recreate them. Then my forearms started to tense up and you feel like running.
When I got to Cal, they tried to put me in safe classes, things I could succeed at. I went to Cal for an education. That’s definitely problematic. You see athletes taking majors that don’t add up to anything.
‘JoJo’s BizarreAdventures‘ – it took a long time for that to get animated because the old-school animation wouldn’t have the glorious nature of JoJo justice. Watching shows like that and ‘Super Kia,’ ‘Black Clover,’ ‘Attack on Titan,’ being able to watch some anime the night before the game definitely helps relax me.
It’s definitely something you have to learn: that you are going to be judged and scrutinised, but you have to decide how much you listen to and how much you let other people’s opinions in.
I was definitely more of a movie/cartoon guy than comics, but I really do like graphicnovels – I don’t have the time to sit down and read Stephen King like I used to, so I find picking up ‘Saga‘ every now and then and just diving back into it is a great way to stay reading.
I haven’t talked to any young artists for a long time. But if we did sit down, I’d definitely tell them my viewpoint. If it was LadyGaga, I’d say: ‘You’re talented, and you’ve obviously got the goods… what the hell are you doing with your image? How can anyone take you serious?’
It’s a weird league in the sense that sometimes you get goals when they definitely shouldn’t have gone in, and sometimes you’re doing everything right and it’s just not going in. It’s the way it goes. I think every player who’s ever played in this league has gone through it.
I think the sexiest thing about a woman is confidence, but confidence in a humble way, not in an arrogant way. Sense of humor is definitely important. And sunglasses always hide a multitude of sins. Sunglasses and a great pair of heels can turn most outfits around.
I grew up just outside Hay-on-Wye, on the borders of Wales, on a farm. It was an amazing childhood, but I got a bit stir crazy when I hit my teens. There was the feeling of having to get out, you know, but it was definitely idyllic.
But it’s a blessing to be so successful within a year; it’s the greatest feeling in the world, making money and doing the things that I’m doing, and I definitely trying to continue doing what I’m doing.
My connections and roots to this land of Australia – the sea, the reefs, the sky, the stars – come from a time and place that existed long before basketball was invented, and definitely long before the Boomersprogram was created.
I wanted to definitely be a musician or a good preacher or a heck of a baseball player. I couldn’t play ball too good – I hurt my finger, and I stopped that. I couldn’t preach, and well, all I had left was getting into the music thing.
I realised that you can never legislate away from piracy. Laws can definitely help, but it doesn’t take away the problem. The only way to solve the problem was to create a service that was better than piracy and at the same time compensates the music industry – that gave us Spotify.
Social media has definitely revolutionized or transformed the world of pageantry, and not just pageantry, but any social cause that we like to lend our voice to, how we inform each other, how we connect.
I want to clear this once and for all. I was born in Hong Kong. I grew up in Japan and China. London is not home for me. I was there only for three years before I moved to India, but that’s probably why I am connected with it. London is definitely not the place I consider my home. It’s India that I consider home.
It’s definitely time to stop. We’re getting too old. We both realised that the show wasn’t as engaging as it used to be. We were starting to look a bit ridiculous.
I’ve definitely done things to change my behaviour. There are certain things you can’t do when you get to a certain level in what you do. When it gets to a certain time, you’re a story to somebody. It is something I have taken on board.
There are definitely some folks in my hometown who are unhappy with the way I portrayed my hometown… But I think most folks realize I wrote this book not to disparage the hometown but to really try to understand why so many kids who grew up like I did struggled.
When I was in Taiwan, we were there for about 8 months, and I was 11 at the time, so it was definitely a culture shock. But it was a really interesting time to be there. I didn’t entirely realize how different it is from the States. I just accepted it because I was there and my parents needed to be there.
I don’t know who I can compare my style to because I listen to everybody from old to new. If I hear stuff that I like, I’ll definitely gravitate to it and spin it in my own way. I’m a mixture of a lot of people, honestly, but I’m myself.
When I’m reading material, if I’m a little bit afraid of a part and I’m willing to admit that to myself, then I’ll do it, definitely. If I’m worried about being able to do it, to get it – I absolutely just love it.
It’s important not to make Spider-Man masculine because he’s a kid. As soon as you make him masculine, it’s harder to relate to him if you are younger and are in high school. I definitely was not masculine in high school.
I definitely do things on my terms, it may not seem that way but I actually do.
Definitely just growing up in general influenced me; Detroit happened to be where I was. I feel like the city definitely has made an impact on my life and made me who I am. Detroit has an unmistakable soul – nobody can duplicate the soul we bring to the game. From Motown to J Dilla to Eminem to anything.
It’s definitely a great honor to be the first Asian-American to win a NASCAR Cup Series Championship. It’s not something that I set out to accomplish in that way, but now that I have, I know that I hold a much bigger role in the Asian community.
Music is a way of expressing my mood, and it definitely helps to motivate me before a game. It also helps me move on from past defeats or keeps my mind busy when I’m not playing, so music is definitely something that follows me every step of every day.
There is a lot you don’t know about me – a lot. I have definitely lived, that’s for sure. I will just leave it at that.
Directing is more what I would like to get into eventually. Frankly, I feel like it would be a waste if I didn’t because I’ve spent so much time on film sets, and I know how they work, and I love them, and I love leading them. I would like to do that as a director definitely.
These are my new shoes. They’re good shoes. They won’t make you rich like me, they won’t make you rebound like me, they definitely won’t make you handsome like me. They’ll only make you have shoes like me. That’s it.
I think music can really affect people’s emotions and, when I am about to get into a race car, I definitely listen to music with a good beat – that’s when you’ve got the adrenalin pumping. And the time before you go into a race weekend, you have a lot of emotion and adrenalin, and a lot of focus.
I definitely binge watch. My schedule is so inconsistent and crazy and hectic that if I get a chunk of time, it’s like, ‘Oh, sweet, I have three hours. I’m going to watch three episodes of ‘Peaky Blinders‘ right now.’
